Small Circle JujitsuTM International becomes official!

On Sunday, September 1, 1996 at the Santa Clara Marriott Hotel during Ohana '96, was the first major meeting of the board members and advisors to kick off Small Circle JujitsuTM International (SCJI). After two years of planning, Small Circle JujitsuTM International is now an official organization.

Some SCJI events are being planned for next year. SCJI will offer its first big event of next year with a Hawaiian Convention to be held in conjunction with Professor Wally Jay's 80th Birthday Banquet on June 13-15, 1997. Also in the planning stages are two Small Circle JujitsuTM ranking camps to be held in Portland, Oregon and Boston, Massachusetts. The future goal of SCJI is to get involved in the promotion of Sport Jujitsu with the United States Jujitsu Association and International Sport Jujitsu Association. Also discussed were requirements for membership in SCJI and the benefits of being a member. More detailed information will be available at a future date.

Many of the top jujitsuka were in attendance. It was a very exciting meeting the momentum has just begun!
