Today (Friday, January 31st, 1997) Professor Wally Jay and his Island Judo Jujitsu Club were featured on the Channel 2 (KTVU San Francisco) 10:00PM News. The channel 2 news team showed up for class on 1/22/97... not to participate, just to film. After watching a bit, they decided that would be safer. However, reporter Bob McKensey learned a thing or two from Professor. He learned not to point his finger at the professor! He ended up on the floor from a finger lock being slapped on him. As Professor always says, "pain makes beleivers". Professor demonstrated various techniques, including his famous pretzel hold on Chris Peterson. Professor relayed some stories from his past and displayed his honest easy going nature. Some of the students were also interviewed, including Superior Judge James Lamden, Assistant District Attorney Russel Lee and Professors favorite uke Chris Peterson. They also mentioned the upcoming 80th Birthday Banquett for Professor Jay in Hawaii on June 13-15, 1997 (see the calendar on the previous page for details).
