I’m not sure I want to sign up straight away, what should I do?

Get in touch with your local instructor, they will be able to answer all of your questions. You may be able to watch a class without joining in first to help you decide.

What should I wear to my first class?

Ideally you should wear a jujitsu uniform (gi) but if you do not yet own one then loose clothing is the best option to start out in. Your club should be able to supply you with a uniform and also a patch. Please note that lightweight gi’s may not be suitable for grappling; heavyweight or judo gi’s are preferred.

Do I need to bring anything to my first class?

The only item you might want to bring is a drink. In general all equipment is provided for your use by the club so you don’t need to buy anything before you come. As you progress you may wish to buy your own equipment such as boxing gloves, escrima sticks and a training knife. Your club will be able to help you chose your equipment.
